The Philippines was one with the world in commemorating September 21st as International Coastal Clean-up Day.
Participated by students, government agencies, NGOs, and the private sector, everyone do their share of picking up the trash that line along coastal areas.
Here in Manila, the concentration site was in Roxas Boulevard, particularly the stretch from the US Embassy to the Manila Yacht Club.
Further down south, people trove to the bird sanctuary of Freedom Island, officially named as the Las Pinas-Paranaque Critical Habitat Ecotourism Area (LPPCHEA), along the Coastal Road.
