The Philippine School of Interior Design (PSID) Advanced Class of 2010 mounted their exhibit from October 3 to 31 at the Athena Building in Eastwood City.
Aptly named Caleidoscope, the exhibit takes on color as a new meaning with nothing less than 18 concept booths that offer a spectrum of vividness to enliven the senses!
The exhibit may be over… and the booths are probably being taken down as we speak, but the opportunity to captured each one of them presented itself, so here they are, immortalize in virtual reality technology for everyone’s viewing pleasure… no visiting hours… open all the time!
Kudos to the 2010 batch!
Inspired by Siddhartha Gautama (Buddha) as the “enlightened one,” the modern Saffron living room is fitted with cove lighting and other lighting fixtures from the floor to the ceiling.
Sunflower is warm, cheerful and bright. A color known for its positive psychological effects, this blissful color commonly used in mellow and relaxing interiors takes a new twist in this modern and glitzy dining room.
With its many variations of shades, Chartreuse can fit anyone’s personality and match any interior, from playful chartreuse yellow, to a conservative color of pear, to masculine hunter green.
The Avocado is everything you expect in an ultra-modern, high-tech lanai: innovative, cool, contemporary, and totally beautiful.
Sage green is the color of nature, harmony, health, and peace. A most restful color to the human eye, sage green is both mentally soothing and physically relaxing, making it the perfect color for a bedroom suite.
The Cerulean toilet and bath transcends the typical toilet and bath space towards holistic wellness. It is located in a beach house perched upon a mountain ledge fronting the sea.
Reflecting the hues of the sky against the sea, Turquoise promotes a sense of relaxation and creative invigoration, restoring one’s spirit during times of mental stress and physical unease.
This design is inspired by a futuristic theme, with Indigo as its base color. It has an outer space ambiance that transports visitors to a different dimension.
Elegance and royalty. This is what the Cornflower (blue) symbolizes in a world filled with color and life.
Midnight blue is often associated with the achromatic color black, projecting the qualities of elegance and individuality. Blue represents water, the symbolism for life, relaxation, serenity, and the calmness of night.
Heliotrope means shunned by the sun. The bedroom speaks for the color: classic, yet modern, the design exudes extravagance and artistry.
Aubergine is a dark purple color derived from the eggplant. The booth shows a modern design of a toilet & bath, inspired from the very famous avant-garde performing artist, Lady Gaga.
Cerise is a pinkish-red color; it has some positive effects on a person physically and mentally; with its vibrant red mixed with feminine pink exuding a fun and exciting look.
The Tomato Kitchen Exhibit Booth was designed based on the concept of fun, freshness and youthfulness… attributes of a Tomato fruit.
This “yin and yang” approach to their design is achieved by combining the strong color of Sang de Boeuf with soft neutrals like sandstone, whites and browns, and further accentuated by celadon and pale mustard.
Cinnabar, oftentimes referred to as the color Vermillion or China Red; is widely used in ancient China since the third millennium. The color sees its own identity in this modern fusion of orientalia in a bedroom space.
The persimmon color of the walls is mostly associated with orange, which is an anti-depressant color that lifts spirits by giving off feelings of security, warmth, joy, creativity, fun, humor and independence
Cinnamon is a burnt orange color that is earthy, warm, and inviting. Inspired by this color and its natural character, the designers took on the challenge of creating a modern and luxurious interior that would harmonize with the very earthy feel of cinnamon.
